Day of Service at Central Texas Food Bank - Austin, TX
Our Austin office recently had the privilege of participating in a meaningful day of service at the Central Texas Food Bank. Together, our dedicated team of volunteers worked tirelessly to sort and bag a staggering 4.5 TONS of sweet potatoes, which will provide a substantial 9,750 meals to our neighbors in need. This hands-on experience not only allowed us to contribute directly to our community but also fostered a deeper understanding of the challenges faced by those struggling with food insecurity.
The Central Texas Food Bank, founded in 1981, is a vital community resource committed to combating hunger and ensuring that everyone has access to nutritious food. The organization distributes food and grocery products through a network of nearly 250 nonprofit community partners and nutrition programs, serving approximately 70,000 individuals each week. By volunteering at the Food Bank, we were able to support their mission and make a tangible difference in the lives of our fellow community members.
Our team members were inspired by the dedication and passion of the Food Bank staff, who work tirelessly to provide essential food assistance to those in need. We were particularly impressed by the innovative programs and partnerships that the Food Bank has implemented to address the root causes of hunger, such as food education, job training, and community gardens.
Participating in this day of service was a truly rewarding and inspiring experience for our entire staff. We are grateful for the opportunity to give back to our community and make a positive impact on the lives of others. At CapRidge, we are committed to corporate social responsibility and will continue to seek out opportunities to volunteer and support local organizations that are making a difference in our community.
