Dan Terpening

Dan Terpening leads all acquisitions, asset management, and disposition activities for CapRidge, while assisting on various special company initiatives. He launched CapRidge’s small bay/light industrial vertical in 2020.

Originally from the Chicagoland area, Dan graduated from the University of Illinois – Urbana-Champaign’s Gies College of Business before launching his commercial real estate career in Chicago. He spent six years at Heitman, a premier investment manager for global institutions with $48B of AUM, where he directly assisted in the acquisition and disposition of assets for clients such as National Pension Service of South Korea, California State Teachers, New York State Common, and Florida State Board, and Heitman’s own commingled funds within the U.S. To date Dan has completed the acquisition, disposition, and financing of $2 billion in investments.

A Texan since 2013, he is an active member of the Urban Land Institute, and the Industrial Local Council, as well as the Real Estate Council of Austin. Dan is on the Del Valle Independent School Board Advisory Committee and a very active volunteer with Girl Scouts of Central Texas and the Austin Parks Foundation.

Dan resides in Southeast Austin with his wife Ivy, two daughters, Scarlett and Keira, and dog Teddy. In his free time, Dan enjoys working out and is a sports junky.
